Melissa Blau is the Founder of iGaming Capital, an industry leading consultancy dedicated to working with licensed operators operating, expanding or entering the US sports betting and iGaming market. She has been in the online gaming sector for over fifteen years as an operator and advisor, and prior in the MediaTech, Venture Capital & Banking Sectors for ten years.
Melissa helped pave the way for iGaming in the US including developing and launching Tropicana Entertainment’s iGaming operations (Tropicanacasino.com) as well as managing the iGaming RFP and vendor process selection for the Delaware Lottery. Most recently, she has been working with Las Vegas based SuperBook, the largest sportsbook in the world, in helping expand their nationwide presence. Other advisory clients include Hard Rock Seminole, Pechanga, Mystic Lake, Akwesasne Mohawk, PCI (Porch Band of Creek), Delaware North, Paysafe, amongst others. In addition to her consulting business, Melissa manages her own licensed iGaming and sportsbetting affiliate business in New Jersey (smartchoicecasinos.com and sportsbettinginsider.com) since 2014. Her prior experience in the iGaming sector includes senior executive roles with gaming and betting operators in the UK and Europe as well as in a banking advisory capacity.
Melissa is both an investor and advisor to several companies in the sector including co-founder and former CFO of SportAD, a fixed odds daily fantasy sports company and has been a core contributor to the iGaming community as the Business & Finance editor of iGaming Business Magazine for 12 years (2007-2019). She is the Chairman of the semi-annual Clarion Startup Launchpad competition (2009-present) and has demonstrated her leadership winning the 2013 Women in Gaming Award for Entrepreneur of the Year.Prior to joining the iGaming sector in 2004, Melissa was a co-founder and General Partner of a $450m MediaTech venture capital fund in association with Bear Stearns. She has a BA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
